Grand opening of church hall

 

We are celebrating the opening of our refurbished church hall. The church hall was damaged by fire last year in the early hours of 13th May 2010. There was extensive damage to the hall, water damage to the meeting room, and a classroom used by Sunday School and a wooden shed used by the Boys' Brigade were completely destroyed. We were very lucky that nobody was injured during the fire and thankful that local residents were quick to contact the fire brigade who put out the fire.

It has taken a lot of hard work to re-build the hall, the hard work has paid off as we now have a lovely new hall. It has been a difficult year without the use of the hall; the Brigades have had to make use of the limited space. Our treasurer Jean Green has been working very hard organising insurance and reports for damaged caused. Our Deacons especially our maintenance committee led by Ivor Green has been very busy organising contractors and builders.
